Those that know me know how old I am and those that don’t don’t. I think I briefly mentioned it in the first episode of Actor, Writer, Musician – so uh…if you’re that curious you can scour through the hour to find the brief mention. You’ll either be astounded or not surprised at all.

  I don’t usually tell people how old I am because I teach a class of students at Perform Australia, and since my profile and body of work is easily accessible on the internet, I would rather not have that information publicly available.

  Moving on to a completely unrelated subject, Monty-Python-esque, I am currently in a state of being where I am too cold without a jumper on and too warm with a jumper on. Canberra winters are sort of unpleasant if you don’t have the exact thickness of coat for the occasion.

  Speaking of Canberra winters, we don’t get the Sun very often, and when we do it’s not in very high concentrations. This is where my important announcement comes in: I have recently been diagnosed with modern Vitamin D deficiency! Huzzah!

  Thinking about it more, it’s probably not something to brag about. I can’t blame my newly discovered ailment on purely environmental factors. I have mentioned previously that it’s rare for me to go outside, let alone in the Sun, and on top of that I have the added embarrassment of having on my permanent medical record: “Due to Leo not going outside very much, he has been prescribed with Vitamin D supplements.” I don’t know how to feel about that. Embarrassed, sure. I do find it quite funny though. Now I have scientific evidence that makes my running joke of never going outside even funnier.

  Circling back, when I was younger I wanted to be a doctor. Then I learnt you had to get through so, so much medical school and I changed my mind. I also discovered music and acting – that influenced my career decisions. But if I became a doctor, I’d still have fun. I’d think it so funny to write on someone’s medical record that they never go outside.
